Yes, you are the writer of your character's story. However, there are a few rules you all must abide by;
1. GM and PP . You would be a bit irked if someone started making moves for your character, right? Right. So don't do it to anyone else. You may not make another character speak, move, or do any sort of action. Leave the post open ended- we all have freedom of controlling our own characters here.
2. Heroes . We know you get to live out adventures through your writing, but come on. Your character is still human, after all (well, unless your character is Infected. Then I'm not sure what to call them.). Don't always have your character be the one saving the day, doing everything single-handedly. Give others the chance to save your rear end, too. Have faults! It makes for a better, more believable character. Plus, being a hero all of the time will piss other writers off, and you don't want that.
3. Damsels . The other extreme to Heroes. Listen, ladies (and dudes, I suppose, though it seems to tip more to this side) we know you would like the attention of that cute survivor over there. However, continually making damsel-in-distress situations makes you look rediculous. Yes! Be in danger! Need to be saved! But, damn, don't make it every single day.
4. Cussing . Cursing, yes, is allowed. If you don't like to use it, hey, good for you, I respect that. Matter of fact is, however, were this situation mine, I'd most likely be cursing a good hundred times a day (not all at once, of course). Just, please, I ask that you not string it all together and have some fucking piece of shit sentence that beats the hell out of the point (like that there, if you didn't pick up on it).
5. Bullying . You can be as cruel as you would like to be while in character. Have a real jackass of a character? Cool. Your player a little bit racist? There are people out there like that, sadly. Be as mean as you want with your character, and if your character is getting picked on, don't take it personally. It's just going along with the plot and story. What I will not tolerate is cruelty while OOC (out of character). Do not be nasty, hateful, racist, or any of the sort to any other member here. It will not be tolerated, and any reports will be investigated and offenders warned or thrown out.
6. Romance . Let's talk about sex, baby. Romance happens; it makes things fun, interesting. If you're offended, don't read it. I allow R-Rated stuff here. However, I don't want to find myself reading a full-on porno. If you are going to have graphic stuff in your threads, please put [R] beside the name of your thread. I will give you a gentle warning if your stuff is pushing the comfort barrier, but for the most part, go crazy.
7. Violence . There is no set limit on violence, but this is here as a reminder to be conservative with your detail. There is a point where it may become distasteful and sickening, and focusing all the writing on the gruesome details may lose you a few points of respect from other writers and members here.
8. Characters . You may not play as Francis, Zoey, Bill, Louis, Rochelle, Ellis, Coach, or Nick. Your character must be made up!
9. Avatar and Name. Your icon, or avatar, must be 100 x 100 and a picture of your character. If you have a signature you'd like to use, please don't let it be larger than 400 width. Your display name needs to be your character's name First "Nickname if they have one" Last.
10. Oh, the Humanity! I know its really tempting to have a badass half-infected-but-still-sane-and-compassionate character, but it begs the question; if it was, at all, possible to resist the violent urges the virus instills, why would there be an epidemic at all?
