She heeds the words of all and decides to grab herself a couple of the beat up guns. While she didn't have the parts to fix each gun individually, she could Frankenstein two guns with the parts of the third. And so, she got to work. She ignored most people around her, but made a few comments.
"Well, I vote for heading to Nevan. As soon as I finish these guns."
Working diligently, she took apart the third gun, and took Patrick's gun for fixing, muttering a thank you as she did so.
Taking apart a gun was easy, once you observed it long enough. With careful skill, she grabbed her screwdriver and began to unscrew. She grabbed her soldering tool, and sparks shot out from where she worked.
"Soon enough, we shall have guns!"
Her end product will be having the guns not only working, but with bayonets.

Crossing her arms and pouting sassily at the cowboy, Kameko glared at him but there was teasing in her dark blue eyes. “Well, yeah, that’s my name.” she told him and tapped a finger against his nose giggling. “But it’s Kameko with a ko, not a do.”
With that, she made her way over to Shane. The boy looked down at her with a frown on his face and a raised eyebrow as he wondered what was going through her mind. She latched onto his arm and proceeded to lead him onto the couch where they sat down with a plop!
“So.” Shane began as he made himself comfortable. “What’s up?”
Kameko looked up at the ceiling as she spoke. “What do you think of the new people?” she asked him, lowering her voice so that they wouldn’t hear.
“Don’t like ‘em already,” the black-haired boy answered back, dropping his voice as well. “We already have a reasonable group as it is, we don’t need any more survivors.”
“Last I recall you’re the newbie here.” Kameko grunted a little rudely. She then leaned in closer. “So are you suggesting we leave them to deal with the zombies?”
Shane shrugged. “They know their guns, I’m sure they’ll be fine with just the three of them.”
The little Asian averted her eyes to where she was looking at Mason, Keith, Roy, and Moro. “Try to get that past them.” she murmured, nodding to said people in turn.

His mistake finally soaked into the Texan, making him quite embrassed at the simple mispronounation. Although, before he could apologized, the girl walked off again and decided to converse in secret with Shane. "Man, she sure is strange," he thought to himself, "but yet, everyone seems to be strange here." Having that, he continued his work with the SCAR, not caring what Shane and Kameko seemed to be discussing about, though he did have his suspisions. While replacing some of the old parts, he noticed Sophia working on two SCARs at the same with impressive speed. The former soldier admired the scientist's craftsmanship; for somebody who didn't have much combat experience, she knew how to handle firearms. "She may be crazy, but she would of been one hell of a weapons' sergaent."

Chuckling as he watched Kameko bounce around the room, he realized how much the group had grown on him, even Shane. To a point at least. The new survivors, not so much, but the ones he had fought alongside, eaten with, opened up to, they were the ones that made him feel like the world would be alright.
But that's also what killed him inside. His face falling slightly, he noted that, if Dahlia wasn't in Neven, he wasn't leaving with the evacutation. He wasn't leaving without his daughter. But that also meant the possibility of never seeing his friends again.
Still, he wanted to remain hopeful, and soon let his gloom fade away for the time being. He noted that the new guys, especially Sophia, really knew how to repair guns. He also noticed Kameko glance over at him. Shane was muttering something to her, probably about the new survivors. Oddly enough, he found himself with agreeing with Shane about the splitting up into two groups. A big one was just asking for trouble. Still, once everyone was gathered together, they'd figure it out.
"Alright, anyone got a map? A big one, preferably?"

"Alright, anyone got a map? A big one, preferably?"
Patrick heard the Irishman's request. A big map would be helpful in a situation like this. Sadly, the only map he had was back at the hotel. It was a road map of the United States, marked with circles where Patrick, Martha, and Jack would have some family fun adventures. With his experence with orientation, he could easily find where he is and navigate in the dense woods. But, he didn't, and now he was lost in a cabin in the middle of the woods infested with zombies with eight strangers while his wife and son was wondering about in danger. He put the final piece together, pulling the action back. His SCAR was ready for battle. He then looked up at the large man.
"Well Mason, if I had a map, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be lost," replied Patrick as he inserted a clip into the assault rifle, then grabbing a few more mags on the weapon table. He felt ready for a fight, even if he had no sight of direction. He needed to achieve his objective; he needed his family. It was starting feel like Iraq all over again for the veteran.

She continued to fiddle around with her gun for a moment, before being struck with a brilliant idea. She simply walks over to her cart, picks up her things, and walks out the door without so much as uttering a word. She travels slowly, deep into the darkness, and into who knows what mischief.
But all that will be known is that she is never seen from again until long after the infection epidemic ends.
(( Sorry all, but due to the intensely slow updates I've had to wait through I've lost all interest, and will no long be visiting this site. Take care to all of you, and enjoy chatting about writing your fanfiction instead of roleplaying. ))

“If I had a map,” Keith began slowly, following Patrick’s statement, “I woulda seen I wa’nt in Ohio. Betcha I can find one, though!”
Determined he leapt up the stairs, more than happy to put some distance between himself and the easiest owl-entrances (the front door and the broken ceiling). There were a couple rooms, one looking a little more shattered considering the door was caved in and there was furniture all around. It was a lot easier, however, to peek in and notice the bookshelf. Books had maps, right?
The hobo figured that books were the closest he’d get, and strolled inside to snatch anything that looked like a map-book. (There was a name for that. Atlis? Alus? Something with an ‘A’.) He cautiously hopped over the broken blockade, then froze. Opposite the bookshelf, plastered to the wall, was a giant map of the area. It was nearly as tall as Keith himself, and he could spot a red circle labeled ‘I am here’ in the middle area of the map and, down to the south, the town labeled ‘Nevan’. There was a lot of forest between the two, and still more farmlands between the woods and the town, but that was navigable.
Eyes twinkling with the discover, Keith hastily tore the map from the wall (losing a few snippets off the edges in the process), snatched a book labeled ‘Atlas’ from the shelf (in case they needed a travel-map), then ran down the stairs two at a time, giant map fluttering behind him like a cape.
“Got it!” he chirped, shoving both the rolled-up map and the atlas into Mason’s arm. “I can’t navigate ta save m’ life–” He didn’t add the ‘literally’. “–so I’ll leave it to y’all.”

Kameko looked in time to see Sophia leave. She didn’t question the woman’s action, but instead silently wished her luck on her own. Her gaze then turned to Keith as the man raced up the stairs. She blinked at how fast he moved and wasn’t surprised when he reappeared with map and atlas in hand.
That’s when she realized that she hadn’t talked to Keith after she had come back from the dead. Something inside her told her to go over and talk to him, to strengthen their friendship. And that’s exactly what she did.
Leaving Shane, she wandered over to the hobo, but caught his muttered words of, “Alright! One less survivor to worry about.” Though what he said was mean, she couldn’t help but agree with him.
“Hey Keith,” Kameko greeted as she reached him and smiled. “I’m bored; do you want to tell me about your friends Ellis and Dave before we leave?”
Hopefully having the man tell her about his friends would be the trick that made their friendship stronger.

Keith had only just taken a seat on the floor a little ways a way (they’d need room for that map) when none other than the un-undead Kameko dropped by to chit-chat. A deep part of his mind set off a few alarms, trying to make him remember that this girl had died, and dead people weren’t supposed to just waltz up and talk to you.
Fortunately for Kami, there was another part of Keith’s mind that A) didn’t want to comprehend why the dead were back to life and B) would never pass of a chance to brag about Ellis, Dave, and various down-home exploits.
He smirked proudly. “Do I wanna talk ‘bout El an’ Dave? Damn straight I do!” He sighed, staring out at the night sky and forgetting for a moment about owls, blood farmers, and maps that required thought. “Man, if them two was around this apocalypse would be like ninety per-cent less suck. Best friends a guy could have, I tell ya.”
For a moment, the hobo was silent, trying to recall a good exemplary situation. “There was this one time,” he began, “I was gonna jump a river just like in the movies, an’ El had it all raised and everythin’ so I could run it like a ramp. But then it didn’ work an’ I was drownin’ so Dave ran in an’ yanked me out. He didn’ do CPR or nothing ‘cause Ellie already called the hospital an' he didn' like me that much, but he socked me in the gut hard enough to make me cough up some a’ the water and I made it out alright.”
After he finished the story and took a moment to think Keith recalled that most of the time, other people liked to talk just as much as he did. “What about you, Kam-Kam?” he inquired, turning to her with a friendly smile. “You do anythin’ neat back where you’re from?”

The departure of Sophia was quite strange to the cowboy. Of course, she was an ackward individual nevertheless, but still, for her to just sliently pack up her things and leave while just insane, considering the fact that the forest still harbored those creatures from hell. Maybe she just cracked; maybe she felt that the group was unwelcoming to her, especially when the cowboy heard Shane mutter, "Alight, one more survivor to worry about." He wanted to chase her, to tell her she's committing a stupid mistake by going out there alone. But then again, he didn't because it was her choice. Whether or not you'll survive is determined by your own will to live. If you don't have that determination, you won't survive. Thus maybe her decision was the best choice. Though, the Texan could only give a silent prayer for the lone woman; that she will do alright.
Soon enough, all memory of Sophia was quickly forgotten as Keith discovered a map. While the hobo was illiterate when it came to map-reading, Patrick on the other hand was an expert. Keith handed the map and the Atlas to Mason, then went off to talk with Kamedo, or was it Kameko (he could never get it right). Upon over-hearing the two younglins' discussion, Keith was recalling a time when he almost drowned while attempting a daredevil stunt over a bridge. The cowboy merely smirked, especially when he mentioned that he had a friend named Ellis, which reminded Patrick about his horse Ellis.
Still, he figured his new comrade Mason was going to need some help reading that map, and standing around while listening to stories won't do much. Also, he hoped that helping him out might develop some sort of relation between the two men. So, Patrick walked up the large survivor and offered his assistance, "Hey Mason, can I help out? If one thing that the Army has taught me, it was to read a map."

Kameko listened to Keith with interest. Her head had titled to the side as he rambled off. She was so lost in his story that she hadn’t noticed he had asked her a question.
“Well…” She tried to come up with something to say. “I used to go to Japan for summer vacation. Oh, it was so pretty there, especially during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The Cherry Blossom trees are so beautiful when they’re in bloom. Have you ever seen a Cherry Blossom tree, Keith?”

"Hey Mason, can I help out? If one thing that the Army has taught me, it was to read a map."
Still rather surprised by the sudden drop-off of an atlas and map, Mason nodded gratefully. He could read a map, sure, but someone that was in the army was sure to know how to even better.
"Yeah lad, that'd be helpful." He set the map on the floor, spreading it out. "Now, I know we're here..."
He circled the woods with his finger. "Now, we'd be better off going through to the farmlands, I think. You?"

Keith focused all his concentration on paying attention to Kameko’s story, despite how short it was. Japan sounded...nice. A little boring if the most impressive thing there was a tree, but nice nevertheless.
“Nope,” he replied with a grin that was a little too cheery for a negative answer. “M’ neightbor had a cherry tree for a while, but it never did nothin’. Only time I left the country was when I was up in Chicago and hiked up to Canada, but I got kicked out by a Mountie in no time.
“Ain’t never been to Japan though,” he sighed. “They got anythin’ cool down there? ‘Sides trees? I got those at home.”

Patrick examined the map with Mason; deciding which path would be best. According to the map, they needed to head South, and there was still plenty of forest in their way. However, to the southwest, and quite close to their current position, there were patches of farmland that hooked right into the rural town. Mason pointed towards those patches, suggesting that was the best way to go. The soldier took awhile to think at the situation as tactically as possible.
If this was his squad of Rangers and if they were going by the books, then it would be wise to go through the woods. The woods offers cover, making hard for the enemy to find you, and it was a shorter path than going through the farmlands. However, he didn't have his squad of soldiers, instead a ragtag group of civilains, and they were dealing with a different enemy: a primial human with enhance senses with unhuman strength with a mulitiple of mutations. The woods offers the enemy plenty of foilage to hide and ambush the group at anytime. And while they were suppose to be your typical mindless zombies, the more advance infected were quite "clever". Sure the farmlands were more open, thus allowing the enemy to see you; but the soldier would rather deal with an enemy he could see than one he couldn't see. Also, the woods itself was unpredictible. Thick foilage and the extreme drop or rise of the terrain could actually slow down group, thus making it longer to get to their destination.
After his intense thinking, Patrick concluded they should go through the farmlands. "Alright, lets go through the farmlands." But there was two major flaws with the plan, as the cowboy moved finger to a labeled area called 'corn', "We're going to have to deal with this cornfield here, which will be a great hiding place for those hunters." Then he slid his finger to a river valley that seperated the rural lands from the small town. "And we're going to have to pass through here. Now, I don't know about you, but the bottom of a valley is a horrible position to in, especially if we have to cross a river. We'll be in death trap if we're spotted by a horde. I don't mind taking this path; I believe this path is overall better than continuing through the woods. However, I just want to put a headsup up there."

Kameko nodded vigorously. “Hell yeah they do! Now,” She held up a warning finger. “I haven’t been to all of Japan, but I know that in Tokyo, the advertisements there are basically porn. And if you like technology, say video games, then Japan is the place to go. Not to mention all the different kinds of anime they’ve got there.” She giggled. “But enough about me, tell me more about yourself. You’re Keith for God’s sake! You can talk like there’s nobody business!”
